THE DARK SIDE OF ME

The dark side is never much fun
To view and contemplate
About number one
Jung exposes it
To all who dare look
Putting aside fear and subjectivity
To reveal an open book

Within our cocoon
We are both thrilled and reviled
For it’s in the analysis
That we see clearly awhile
To all brave souls
Who dare to peek
And examine our holes

Under the microscope
We are vulnerable and naked
Like Alice through a looking glass
We see ourselves tainted
But for those who might risk
To look inside
Meaning abounds, with an asterisk

So I challenge those few
Who profess to know all
Take a chance with yourself
And tear down the wall
Be kind to yourself
And follow your heart
To lessen the gulf
